These are not mass-produced shoes. They represent authentic Italian craftsmanship, fine materials and meticulous attention to detail.
The Loro loafers are made in Italy, in a Tuscan footwear manufactory established in 1930. They embody generations of shoemaking tradition, expertise and attention to detail, giving every pair its distinctive character.
Upper: Genuine full-grain calfskin in spazzolato finish. This is a particularly refined type of leather, finished without a conventional industrial patent coating. It is carefully brushed for hours with horsehair brushes until it develops its deep, lustrous sheen. Only high-quality leather can achieve such natural depth and reflection. With proper care, the leather develops character over time and can be enjoyed for many years.
Interior: Leather lining and insole made from naturally vegetable-tanned leather, offering comfort and breathability. The lining features the inscription “Fatte a mano in Italia per Étape”, handwritten by the artisan.
Sole: Genuine leather (VERO CUOIO), hand-painted and constructed using the Blake stitching method. This durable construction allows the sole to be replaced multiple times, extending the life of the shoes.
Heel: A layered leather heel finished with 12 decorative brass pegs, a traditional detail associated with fine shoemaking craftsmanship.
Finishing details: Hand-cut fringes and hand-tied tassels give the loafers their distinctive, individual style.
Italian leather, precise stitching and the possibility of resoling make these loafers an investment in long-lasting quality. With proper care and occasional maintenance, they are designed to be worn for years. Rather than replacing your shoes every season, you can restore and enjoy a favourite pair for a long time to come.
